Batteries for Mobility Scooter

Asylum seeker with Cerebral Palsy needs new batteries for mobility scooter.

Our client is an asylum seeker who has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. He is now unable to walk, complete most physical tasks or work and receive a steady income. He is unable to access NDIS or disability services so cannot afford the necessary medical accessories suited to his high needs. He has previously requested support to access a new scooter, but was denied. Now, his scooter has outlived the battery, leaving him unable to get around his community with the security of knowing he can return home - as he needs to constantly charge it to get out of his home. Our client is incredibly independent and enjoys getting out in his community, but has been severely impacted by the charge-time of his current mobility scooter battery. We are reaching out to support our client in accessing the required batteries as well as having them fitted so he able to move about freely and independently.
