Victim of crime survivor, unable to work and finding it hard to purchase healthy foods to suit dietary requirements
Consumers was the victim of the storm event in Feb 2024 which caused damage to his rented accommodation and to some of his belongings. He has found it hard to manage financially since the event due to the cost of replacing his goods. Since the storm, consumer was the victim of an unprovoked knife attack which has rendered him unable to work due to injury and mental health challenges. He is currently receiving Job Seeker whilst applying for Disability Support Pension. He is being supported through this process via the Victim Assistance Program. Consumer has certain dietary requirements and is unable to eat foods and therefore does not access food banks etc to supplement his shopping. Consumer has spoken about “dumpster diving” possibly even not paying for food. A supermarket voucher will help alleviate food insecurity and could help avoid financially hardship.
