Support for at risk youth to engage in a trade skills program to up-skill and improve mental wellbeing
This small Not For Profit program offers young people the opportunity to experience trade activities under the guidance of volunteer industry professionals.
The program aims to increase work and life skills, improve mental health and increase connection for young people whilst better connecting them to opportunities in the community. This program also works with at-risk young people as an early intervention model to re-engage them at school and supports youth who experience difficulty in a mainstream environment.
Many of the program participants come from financially disadvantaged backgrounds. WHS compliance requires all participants to wear leather work boots to ensure safety during the trade activities. We would like to be able to assist those participants who are financially unable to purchase the required footwear, by providing these at no cost so that they can participate.
