Young person and family separated and experiencing primary homelessness
This young person has been facing the harsh realities of primary homelessness since the beginning of 2023. The young person has reached out to several host families who were willing to support her short-term however recent friendship breakdowns have deemed her vulnerable and at risk of homelessness again. The family members are currently living in different locations, and communication among them has dwindled to sporadic phone calls. This separation has taken a toll on their emotional well-being, and the need for additional support has become crucial.
The young person is currently attending school and prioritizing her education, finding solace in the support provided by her peers, teachers, and the deadly unit (Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander Support).
Despite the supportive school environment, the approaching Christmas season has heightened the need for additional assistance, particularly concerning essential food and personal items for the young person.
