Client who lives alone and has recently been diagnosed with cancer requiring surgeries and will have ongoing treatment
Client lives alone and has always worked and received an income and has very little family support. Client has just recently been diagnosed with cancer and has been flown to Melbourne to have a tumor removed from her ear, this required surgery and skin grafts and further surgeries. Once client has completed recovery, they will start treatment in Melbourne to be monitored to see how they are responding to treatment. They will also require rehabilitation with speech and movement.
During the recovery process client would like a new comfortable bed, to make her treatment and recovery more comfortable and bearable for them. As client is currently on leave without pay and unsure how long this will be for, they do not have the means to purchase a new bed as all monies are going toward maintaining tenancy and general living expenses.
