Request for Hairdressing Equipment Donations for High School Engagement Program

We are excited to launch an engagement program at our high school aimed at re-engaging Indigenous youth from remote Aboriginal communities through practical learning. Our program will focus on hairdressing, a field with proven success in similar initiatives. After the 2023 Fitzroy Crossing flood ripped through our communities we have had a large decrease in school engagement and are trying to do our best to engage students who are struggling to attend school again.

Many of these young students have never had their hair cut professionally by a qualified hairdresser. To provide them with this valuable experience, we are seeking donations of hairdressing equipment. This will enable us to offer hands-on workshops led by a trained hairdresser, fostering skills and positive engagement.

Your support in donating hairdressing tools will significantly impact these students’ lives, offering them both practical skills and a new sense of achievement.
