A Disability Pension recipient and his family were impacted by the Storms back in February 2024 and face financial hardship.
The family were impacted by the February 2024 storm and lost a significant about of food and medication due to the loss of power. The family are dependant on their combined Disability & Carer pension and are renting and also have their three granchildren living with them. A review call has found that they are without funds to adequately purchase food and at the same time have an urgent need to have their two dogs seen by the Vet and have surgery to desex them. They are also needing to repair their back lawn which was destoyed in the storm and they have not been able to repair this and with the winter coming on they need to do this to prevent mud being brought into the house. f
