Our young family needs your help in re-establishing their home to keep their family together after a challenging period.

Our family (including mum, dad and two young children with a third on the way) have accepted community support to help them regain control of their home after mental illness and unemployment stresses resulted in the house presenting as a squalor and hoarding environment. This was a sad period for the parents of the children, acknowledging they felt embarrassed and unable to reach out to their family and others to help them through this time.
Services have now stepped in and supported the family to maintain care of their children in a safe, emergency accommodation arrangement and have also supported the extensive cleaning of the house. Unfortunately, most of the family's belongings were unsalvageable due to rodent infestation.
Going forward, the family will continue to be supported by professional agencies, including counselling and life skill development to ensure this crisis does not re-occur.
