Clinical environment, need items to support client comfort and reduce distress in busy ED setting. Many disadvantaged clients

The emergency hospital environment is overwhelming for most people, let alone when you are in distress and possibly experiencing the worst time of your life. For people presenting with mental health concerns the wait to be seen can be lengthy and the wait for a bed also lengthy. It has been shown that providing sensory supportive strategies and items during this time, can reduce their distress and reduce the likelihood of agitation and aggression. The service is looking for funding to purchase items that can support people in this setting to have a therapeutic experience, rather than one which is overwhelming, frightening and distressing. Any one of us or our family may at some time in our lives attend an ED. Any amount would be appreciated, as a small amount of funding can make a big difference.
