Game on with the ACT Brumbies

Making a difference in the ACT and beyond

Playing their part in helping Australians experiencing hardship, the Plus500 Brumbies have named GIVIT as their major charity partner for 2021.

The Brumbies' support will enable GIVIT to continue to provide Australians exactly what they need during times of hardship. On strengthening their partnership with GIVIT, Brumbies CEO, Phil Thomson said:

“Brumbies Rugby are delighted to officially partnered with GIVIT for 2021. We saw the impact their organisation was able to have on the ground during the Bushfire Appeal last year and we're really excited to be able to continue our relationship with them to help those in our area and the wider community."

Brumbies and GIVIT expand on already-strong partnership

GIVIT and the Brumbies first partnered in 2020 to raise funds for the National Bushfire Appeal. Raising $50,000 to help those affected by the devastating Black Summer Bushfires, Brumbies players also travelled to Tumut, Bemboko and Broulee to visit impacted families and show them they haven't been forgotten. One of those visits was to the Bell-Chambers family in Batlow, whose family home and property were ravaged by the bushfires.

Lending a hand to communities in hardship

The Brumbies partnership will mean GIVIT can empower more frontline charities to provide exactly what's needed, when it's needed to everyday Aussies having a tough time. GIVIT's ACT Engagement Officer, Kristi Clark, is grateful for the support shown by the Australian Capital Territory's premier sporting organisation.

Tug of war at Brumbies fan day"From drought, fires, floods and pandemic, communities across Brumbies country have had a tough few years. We’re excited to strengthen our partnership and make sure no one in our community is forgotten."

GIVIT celebrated the announcement by hosting a keenly fought players vs fans tug of war at the Brumbies fan day at their University of Canberra headquarters in March.

Connecting generosity with genuine need

GIVIT continues to be a popular choice for companies and organisations looking for a corporate social responsibility program with a difference. As a New South Wales Government donation partner for anyone looking to support people affected by flooding in NSW in March, many companies are doing their bit to support affected people on what will be a long road to recovery.
