Baw Baw Food Relief

Food Relief Charity located in the Baw Baw Shire.
Baw Baw Food Relief helps community members experiencing food insecurity through financial hardship providing nutritional food and personal products.
In the 2019 - 2020 financial year we assisted 950 families and individuals. Due to the influx of people relocating to our catchment area Baw Baw Food Relief are now helping people sleeping rough as well many new families.
We expect the pressure on our services will increase by 10-15% this financial year.
Baw Baw Food Relief is a Not for Profit organisation with 70 caring volunteers helping their community.

Baw Baw L2P

NFP that supports 16-21 year old learner drivers to overcome road blocks in achieving their 120 hours of supervised driving. Learners are matched with volunteer mentors for drives, following the graduated licencing system, supplying safe vehicles, and reducing other boundaries including glasses, safe footwear etc.
Partly funded by department of transport, we are required to fund the remaining 25-30% of program costs.

BayCISS is a not for profit community organisation providing an extensive range of services and programs for community members living in the Bayside and northern part of City of Kingston local government areas. In Hampton East, BayCISS provides essential supports including emergency relief, information, referral, advocacy and support for vulnerable, at-risk, homeless and low income community members. Emergency relief includes nutritious food parcels, prepared meals, food vouchers, MYKIs, pharmacy prescription vouchers, fuel cards, bill assistance, utility relief grant applications and even pet food. We utilise a strengths based approach to empower and support resilience whilst providing practical and emotional supports to address immediate crises. Our services including family counselling, programs and supports are free to enable access to all community members.

Bayside Community Care

Bayside Community Care exists to assist and support disadvantaged members of our community in their journeys. Our major program is Matt's Place; a community meals program that has been in operation for the past 12 years, serving fresh hot meals twice a week in the Kingston area. We also collaborate with other agencies and service providers in the area, alongside local government, to ensure that the most vulnerable of our community are afforded every opportunity. We host a large Christmas Lunch, operate an emergency food relief pantry and engage relationally with those we seek to serve throughout the year; opening the opportunity for genuine advocacy and connection.

Be Hers

Be Hers is a Tasmanian based, non-profit organisation that aims to bring awareness and solution to the issue’s and vulnerabilities surrounding Human Trafficking and the ‘slave-labour trade.’ Through awareness events, digital engagement, and social enterprise, we engage and empower everyday people and the corporate sector to use their freedom to assist the movement. These connections and partnerships allow us to provide support directly to those at risk locally by way of education, employment, mentorship, and resources to enable women to regain their ‘freedom,’ dignity and independence. Nationally and Globally, we are able to generate change as a movement as we support organisations on the ground fighting to end slavery.
